The Trimble Holdings GmbH - Metric Imaging Department was descended from the Rollei Metric GmbH, which was descended from the department Sondertechnik / RolleiMetric of the company Rollei GmbH. RolleiMetric looks back on a history of app. 20 years within the Rollei GmbH, a long established company since more than 100 years.
RolleiMetric relates to a knowledge of survey camera systems over many years and with a continuous development, RolleiMetric could establish its products in the world market. Especially the good results in the aerial survey market caused Trimble to acquire the Rollei Metric GmbH. The company Rollei Metric GmbH was defined as the Metric Imaging Department of the Trimble Holdings GmbH in Raunheim. The Metric Imaging Department is one of the main part of the GeoSpatial Group and will develop performance-oriented aerial cameras, as the AIC or AOS.
